Self Defence Courses for Women
Our Self Defense for Women Course teaches Women and girls to be resourceful and to surprise their attacker rather than rely on strength. You will learn to strike Vulnerable targets and escape from many Common Holds, developing an inner confidence in yourself.
People are afraid of being attacked, fear is an intense emotion, intense emotions are very powerful. When humans or animals are frightened we fight or take flight.
When we get scared, adrenalin rushes into our blood stream, this can make us run faster, hit harder and yell louder. In a tense situation we may hold our breath but we need a good supply of Oxygen to allow this Adrenalin to work effectively, therefore in classes you will practice relaxing breathing and emergency breathing.
Our courses are held throughout Alberta. Locations vary from course to course. The techniques that we teach are very simple and very effective. The emphasis at this point is to create distance between you and your attacker and to get to safety.
We show you how you do not have to be reliant upon strength but on technique, it makes people realize that they can achieve results far beyond their own expectations.
All of the techniques that you'll learn are simple and effective, they utilize gross motor skills which simply put are basic body movements that most people are already capable of.
Learn how to use your weight to it's full effect and how you can maximize the strength and momentum of your assailant to your benefit.
